Vetran’s Week and Remembrance

November 10, 2011

It really annoys me that certain stores have started with their Christmas advertising already.  Isn’t it enough that we are bombarded with their push for consumerism during the month of December?  Must we put up with it  all November as well?  I believe that during the first part of November we should think about our veterans, and I personally don’t bring out any Christmas decorations until advent.

November 11th is Remembrance day in Canada, it is a national holiday.  This year, make it more than a day off, I urge you to show your respect.  Our government says it very well, “make remembrance more than something you feel.  Make it something you do.”  Wear a poppy over your heart, attend a ceremony and vow to never forget.

This is veteran’s week, how will you remember?
