Hold on Japan.

March 11, 2011

I want to wish all people in Japan my most sincere condolences for the devastation of the earthquake and tsunami today.  I also send all my hopes for the safety and rescue for those people who have been affected everywhere.

This is most definitely a  reminder to all of us on the Pacific coast that we need to be prepared for an earthquake here.  Initial reports from Japan tell of people who exited buildings calmly and knew the location of evacuation centres following the shaking.  I am most impressed by their knowledge on how to make the best of a bad situation.

Find out  how to be prepared if a major earthquake comes to where you live by visiting the resources from Shakeoutbc which was the first earthquake drill held over the entire province of British Columbia.

My prayers are with you, Japan, for recovery and safety.
