Take me out to the ballgame

October 29, 2008
I thought that I was going to miss the last game of the World series because I was at work, but then I got another chance, and it wasn’t because the Rays won another game to extend the series, but because they tied and then it began to rain a lot.  For the first time in the history of the Series they suspended the game in the middle because of the weather and are planning to resume the game tonight.  Prior to this, the game had been washed out because of rain (not even had a chance to start) three times in 1962, and again in 1975.  The Series was delayed a week because of an earthquake in 1989.
The ballpark is being real fair and allowing people to use their rain soaked ticket stubs to come back to the continued game.  When they go they had better bring their woolies because it looks like it will be fairly chilly, getting down to zero with the windchill. But it won’t take them long to get to the 7th inning stretch since the will be starting with the sixth inning.  It will be baseball history and I for one will be watching.  If we get the chance we will be making home made corn dogs!  Yummy.
