Finger length and beauty

March 1, 2007
I once attended a live drawing class and I noticed that the proportion of my fingers on my hands were different then most of the others in the class.  Most others had ring fingers that were equal to or shorter then their index (pointer) fingers.  Mine is the other way around.  The teacher said it was because I had Eygptian royal blood.  I did a bit of exploring and found this diagram as it turns out, finger length is determined by genetics and prenatal hormone exposure.  A study has even shown that if a woman has a longer index finger then ringer finger she has an increased predispostion to be athletic (most have equal length fingers).
