Monsoon, monlater, it all means alot of water!

November 7, 2006
We have just weathered what is known around here as the "Pineapple Express."  That is a whole lot of rain from the Pacific.  We didn’t venture out into the back yard to dump out the rain guage so I had to rely on the weather network to tell me the precipitation totals, and the closest is the airport across the Pitt River near Maple Ridge.  They measured 70mm yesterday, and 25mm the day before.   It is really good news for the salmon in our local streams.  Today we had some blue sky and sunshine so we are drying out a bit.  I mostly stayed indoors and watched football. Yay Roughies!
