Where is the rain?

November 23, 2005
If you have taken a look at the local web cams for Vancouver and area recently you may not have seen much.  For the last while we have been experiencing an interesting autumn condition of fog.
If you are lucky enough to take a trip to the top of one of our local mountains you would see the peaks sticking out and beautiful clear sky and sunshine overhead.
For the rest of us down here at sea level, we are living under a blanket of thick white.  It has made driving an experience as it is  a challenge to see much ahead of you.  Drivers are actually slowing down to the speed limit in places! I saw a flock of Canada Geese flying overhead and I was in wonderment at how they were able to see enough to fly.  Locations that were once familiar because of landmarks are now different and mysterious.  It feels like I should know where I am, but it is unfamiliar.
The fog changes in density depending on how close you are to the ocean.  Where I live, I can see down the street, but today when I was in Burnaby it was difficult to see across a two lane road.  I was facinated to see golfers still going at it.  I’ll bet they went through a bunch of balls today.

Hope you enjoy the quote below, it reminded of your space`s title…check it out!Dancing in the Rain!"Some people dance in the rain. Others just get wet. We can choose. Is the wind annoying or exhilarating? Is the sun making you squint,or is it a beautiful day? Is your cup half empty or half full? Opt for optimism. Optimistic people are usually happier, less stressed and more successful. Optimism is a self-fulfilling prophecy. At first it may be difficult, because most people are experts at seeing the negative. But you can break this gloomy habit, and learn to see the bright side of life. Whenever unreasonable negative thought enter your mind, try to turn them around and see the positive side. Everytime you see the good in your life or your future you become that little bit more happier". -Patrick William Moore-Janik =)
