Got no respect!

November 11, 2005
Here in Canada we have Rememberance day to commemorate and remember the past when brave men and women put their butts on the line to make sure we have a peaceful, free country to live in.  At 1100 am there are ceremonies across the nation with services to honor our vetrans.  In fact this year is the year of the vetran.

I couldn’t attend one of these services today because I was at work, we all do our necessary share of the holidays.  What really burned me up was the renovations that were taking place in this public building.  Today the crew was breaking up the concrete.  It was incredibly loud and disruptive, and continued at 1100.  Why didn’t they knock off at least for that hour?  And why on earth would they not do the work during the week?  This is not just another holiday, real Canadians stood up for us when it really mattered, and our society has dropped it to a day where they make a heluva racket without disturbing the office workers.

Mumble mumble.
